I don't know how well I'm going to do on bed rest. I thought I would "practice" for a bit today, but I don't think I laid still for more than 20 minutes. I cooked dinner, folded a bit of laundry and then my sister called. I decided to go over to her house for a bit and dig through baby clothes to see what I would take (I ended up taking it all!). So, hopefully, in my case no practice does make perfect because I ended up not really practicing at all.
It is amazing to me that my life as I know it will change in just two short weeks. The next time I leave my house (except for four doctors appointments that I'll have in the next four months) it will be to deliver the babies. That just blows my mind. Not that I was Ms. Social or anything, but Mark and I pretty much did things as we wanted to...if we woke up one Saturday or Sunday and wanted to drive somewhere we did...or if we felt like going away for the weekend, we would. All that changes in two weeks.
It's also hard for me to believe that I won't be at work for probably 6 months! In two weeks, I won't be travelling to Harrisburg for 6 months (that's bed rest and maternity leave together). While everyone knows my disdain for my commute, I probably won't miss the drive, but I will miss my co-workers. While I'll still be working and communicating with them via phone and email, not seeing them for 6 months will be odd to say the least.
Well, this concludes my first post. Thanks for reading.
